SAN ANGELO, TX — AEP Texas has deployed 167 additional fulltime employees to restore power to the San Angelo area. Right after the storm hit, nearly 20,000 locations were without power. As of 2 p.m. Saturday, that number had been reduced to 8,378.

Among the areas hit hardest was the Bradford area, from 22nd to 26th Streets. AEP estimates about 2,300 customers are still without power there. AEP estimates the area will be restored by Monday at 6 p.m.

Power was restored downtown San Angelo area at approximately 2 p.m. today.

The Walnut at Jackson St. area will have their power restored by 8 p.m. Saturday night.

AEP expects to have Santa Rita residences back on the grid by 6 p.m. Sunday night.

AEP said Ballinger has extensive damage and will not have power restored until Monday at 6 p.m.

About 400 residences in the Dove Creek, Spring Creek, and Knickerbocker area are without power. AEP estimates power will be restored there by 8 p.m. Saturday.

WATCH: Press conference on storm damage:

The power outages in the San Angelo area rippled through town with the passage of a line of thunderstorms starting at around 5 a.m. The first casualty was the power line running along FM 2335 south of the Spring Creek bridge southwest of San Angelo. High winds and lightning contributed to the amount of power outages throughout the area.

The City of San Angelo requested that cleanup crews at individual properties place the debris on the property near the curb, not in the streets.

I haven’t seen an aep truck yet at all or at the sub station I’m a block from took them 8 days to get me a meter I bet it is Monday till there’s power on veck

Thankfully nobody has been hurt, at least from what people I've talked to. I was actually glad to see Lares on Live, I was going to try to reach you via smack talk if you hadn't posted first... Glad all are ok! Will be scanning the pawn shops for one in the future!

Those who deride the meteorologists for sounding the alarm of inclement weather are strangely silent........
