Police Investigate Curious Discovery of Crumpled Pickup Crashed into Residence

SAN ANGELO, TX — A curious police investigation is unfolding around the occurrence of a crash involving a single vehicle into a residence on Paint Rock Rd.

According to our reporter on the scene, a silver or tan-colored vehicle, likely a pickup, can be seen crashed into the front yard of a home. The severity of the crash, as indicted to the badly damaged truck, may indicate the pickup crashed into an object in the yard at a high rate of speed. Our reporter said possibly the truck struck “brush” but the truck is crumpled as if it hit a tree.

At least two ambulances were at the scene. One passed our reporter headed for Shannon Medical Center with lights and sirens as the reporter arrived at the scene. The other left with no emergency lights on.

After a short while, the San Angelo Police Department’s Crime Scene Investigators arrived to conduct a detailed investigation. According to police policy, CSI will investigate vehicle crashes when serious life-threatening injury occurs, or if the crash claimed a life.

But then, police brought in a K9 unit, or a dog, to search for a human indicating this incident involves more than just a crash.

It appeared the pickup was northbound on Bell St. from Old Christoval Rd. and crashed at a residence in the 200 block of Paint Rock Rd. Our reporter observed a police officer at the Stripes Convenience Store at Bell St. and Chadbourne St., just south of the crash scene.

Paint Rock Rd. is closed and blocked from Sellers to Lipan St. The crash happened just before midnight Friday night.

The officer stationed at the stripes was guarding a completely flattened gas pump.... there is your "bush". the stripes guy said that there was an altercation between two parties.. One tried to leave, the other tried to block them in...aaaand a gas pump got flattened , probably why every emergency vehicle in town responded before swiftly dissipated..goodtimes ...

A gas pump may have been involved, but it doesn't explain the damage to the truck(?). Surely he hit something more substantial.

You said: Our reporter observed a police officer at the Stripes Convenience Store at Bell St. and Chadbourne St., just south of the crash scene. Wrong!! Bell St. and Chadbourne St. do not intersect. They are not even remotely close to each other.
