Midland Junior High Teacher Threatens Student with Their Life on Tape

MIDLAND, TX-- An eighth grade student at Midland ISD's San Jacinto Junior High School had his life threatened by his teacher, CBS 7 reports.

The student, only identified as Kobe, admitted to CBS 7 that he broke a rule by entering Jeffery Laing's science class with his headphones on. Kobe refused according to the report, leading to an escalation by the teacher.

"He started getting mad and buffing up to me, and calling me trash and dog," Kobe told CBS 7.

Kobe also told CBS 7 that the altercation "got scary, racist and threatening."

A classmate with a phone recorded the end of the argument.

“GET OUT! You get out of my classroom before I kill you. You piece of crap. GET OUT,” Laing said on the recording.

CBS 7 reports that Kobe is now in another science class.

Midland ISD's spokesperson Lacy Sperry offered a short statement to CBS 7 regarding the incident:

"Discipline has been handled by campus administration."

This kid has a bad attitude, but the teacher is psyco....btw, the title of this article makes no sense....

a teacher went apeshit on me, I'd have many dollars, and quite a lavish lifestyle, as well, courtesy of the Dallas ISD after litigation.

Things were different in the mid 80's, however, teachers were hitting kids with yard sticks, pulling ears. I witnessed a friend of mine being yanked into the boys room while the ghetto transplant assistant principal pulled off his belt and literally beat him breathless -- all because he talked during our military style-like line we were ordered to stand in, after lunch. Luckily I switched schools soon after .

I'm not sure how this was ever allowed, or how any of these post menopausal hags and eunuch child beaters managed to keep from being curb stomped by a concerned father, let alone maintain employment working with children.

I've often wondered what it's be like, bumping into these cowardly old bags today. They're now helpless and fragile, and I'm big enough to strike people with objects and pull body parts.

Most of us who went through that garbage in school, would've just cracked up laughing at some hot head asshole teacher yelling "I'm going to kill you!", some of us would've hungrily egged him on.

MjNS, Fri, 11/02/2018 - 04:53

You have a desire to beat on senior citizens...from the crap in your post it is a shame you made it through school. Or did you? Do you still show others the same respect you showed your teachers?

call me crazy, but I don't think children should be manhandled by school staff. Some here in Texas believe they do, still, to this day -- "Spare the rod, spoil the child" types.

I made it through school just fine, despite the abuse, and yes, that was abuse. Funny though, had these people pulled that junk out at say, Walmart, they'd be led out in cuffs. Do it in school, and it's "corporal punishment".

I don't see how this has anything to do with my ability get through school, or why my manners should be questioned. Do you have kids? Send you're 8 year old to school, let a janitor or some other low rent slag slap them across the face or toss them onto the cafeteria floor, for accidently spilling something -- then tell your child it's a wonder they can handle school, and second guess their injuries.

For the record, I still talk in line, but I was indeed raised better than the mongoloids who's first reaction to annoyances, is to ball a fist or grab a makeshift weapon to strike out.

Respect is earned MjNS, and child beaters, as a rule, usually earn very little.

Yes the teachers "back in the day" did handle their own discipline but it was rare to see. The children understood the importance of an education, was taught to respect rules and adults and the kids learned this at home from parents that respected the rules and others. Some of the parents now show little respect for rules and other human beings so why do we expect their children to be any different than what they see and learn from their parents. This new generation is lazy, expect everything to just be given to them as they continue to be disrespectful, need instant gratification and are not held responsible for anything they do. More parents and teachers need to go back to the "old" way of thinking. {Except they are afraid of being sued .} I am terrified for my grandchildren and future generations to have to live like this.

MjNS, Sat, 11/03/2018 - 07:17

Respect is not earned, respect is given until the other person makes it impossible to respect them. If there was abuse it should be dealt with, but the kids today that disrespect teachers are running rampant, because they know they can get away with it. Teachers regularly are vilified, but the young punk asses in todays school system need a good smack upside the head til they show some respect. I don't care what someone has done to you in the past, saying you are now "big enough to strike people with objects and pull body parts" of "cowardly old hags" says it all. You get back what you give in this world, and if you go through life sneering and annoying teachers, you will likely sneer at and annoy people when you are older. Case in point, read your original post.

Leave your Canadian propaganda and subversion out of this. Canadian passive-aggressiveness ("politeness," which is not the same as genuine niceness, concern, regard, and farthest from honesty,) and animus towards their American neighbors is legendary, and you do nothing but point your collective fingers at the United States while never owning up to your own human rights abuses against your indigenous population, rampant classism, and racist immigration policies even as you trot out Trudeau to give the world an amateur drama class session.

In the coming war with the Beoetian scourge, we will gladly put this animus to rest while tapping your maple trees, riding into Montreal on mooseback and planting the flag of the nation you could never be. We have not forgotten the war of 1812 and what you did to our beloved capital all so you could lick the boot heels of "Great" Britain and the monarchy!

Mjns, I had a primarily productive and enjoyable school career. For the most part, I had very involved and genuinely caring teachers, some who went beyond their responsibilities and volunteered to mentor me. THAT'S dedication, and a child who receives that kind of nurturing and consideration doesn't forget it.

My post was directed at a handful of child beaters, in one particular school. I'm guessing they didn't do much of this schoolyard child beating up in Canada. What message do you think it sends, to the kids being beaten? It's OK to hit someone that annoys you? That problem solving is accomplished by breaking yard sticks over 8 yr old's behinds?

Is it too far fetched, that children who are treated that way would feel resentful, and possibly angry about it?

If a teacher makes news for dating a high school student, most of you would be ready to lynch him. If he decided to "paddle" or strike a kid . . well, that's just fine. I'll never understand that logic, but it's probably not worth the time trying to.

Terri, made excellent points, and unfortunately, the incident in the article has all the markings of a yet another "race baiter" trying to stir the pot. The teacher is now presumed to be a racist, and that will take precedence, or assuredly distract from the fact that, racist or not, a teacher simply shouldn't react to his students in this manner.

He definitively threatened a student, but possibly...allegedly...could be racist. On most major "news" outlets that will be the projective narrative, followed by a Don Lemonesque "where's the whiteguy ban?".

They say that the person who has run our of arguments resorts to insults. I am not surprised by your inability to respond to being called out or by your strange urge to inflict violence upon the defenseless. I am merely disappointed, but not surprised. Perhaps the warm sun of West Texas can thaw your vengeful and glaciated heart.

MjNS, Sat, 11/03/2018 - 11:03

Idiot is really a too sterling title for you. You have no idea of my politics, or where I point my fingers. I live in the USA, not Canada, and generally have as little to do with politics on either side of the border as possible. Your posts here are distinctly troll like, as is your name. Perhaps if you have any desire for me to take you seriously, you could post something other than mocking posts and what you seem to take as humour. If you want to post about the subject at hand, fine. Obviously you had a rich rewarding academic life in school.

I have a gift for you. It is your own anger. You can have it back. Your constant deflection and dissembling only strengthen my point. This is America, ma'am. Please understand that we have our own customs and laws here. This is not the country you left, and Canadian norms are not American norms.

MjNS, Sat, 11/03/2018 - 14:12

Is your problem? You barge into another persons discussion, insult me and all Canadians, then drag in the war of 1812? Then you think I have anger issues. Go play in the traffic. I have no more time for trolls...

MjNS, Sat, 11/03/2018 - 14:32

To get back to the discussion, you seemed in a rage of anger in your original post. You can't deny it came across as hateful and advocating violence at the now aged teachers that abused you. If someone has hurt you, that doesn't mean you have the right to hurt them back. That is what the court system is for, as you referred to. This atatement "Most of us who went through that garbage in school, would've just cracked up laughing at some hot head asshole teacher yelling "I'm going to kill you!", some of us would've hungrily egged him on." doesn't show any maturity on your part. You seem to want to be back in the classroom with the teachers so you could exact some sort of revenge. Being abused is terrible, ask me how I know. But at some point you have to let it go and be willingto try and make things better. Teachers and students need to show respect. I agree, the respect is not taught at home. I would never have dared talk to my parents the way kids do now, and I can only recall being spanked once. I was more worried about dissappointing them than anything.
That doesn't mean I was perfect, but it kept me between the ditches, so to speak.
I seriously did not see any value to Ritas' remarks. She waded in to a discussion and insulted me, then did some shifty pot calling the kettle black thing. I am still scratching my head over the war of 1812 being dragged in.Rita, I, on behalf of all Canadians, apologize for burning the White House. Happy now?

"If someone has hurt you, that doesn't mean you have the right to hurt them back."

What a concept, Mjns! Corporal punishment, however, DOES teach kids that violence solves problems. You can dress it up with words like "discipline", but discipline indeed implies there's a lesson to be learned, under the shadow of impending consequences. In short, hitting children teaches children that hitting is ok, which isn't a very useful practice, seeing as people aren't generally allowed to physically attack someone they don't like or agree with -- even if the attacker feels there's a very valuable lesson he needs to communicate.

I don't condone harming children, for any reasons.

Respect should be a mutual act, among any and all people of reason, but I would never ask my child to hold in high esteem, those who've harmed him.

If you've witnessed the same generation of youth coming up, that myself and many others have, you too, will agree that basic common decency is lacking, in some people, in some circles. Most weren't beaten, but more poignantly, were not parented, and consequently ended up as young adults in various stages of arrested development: low morale, no sense of responsibility beyond their vices, the inability to socialize with anything that doesn't have a screen, the demand for instant gratification.

Workplaces and college campus are now required to cater to, and patronize persons, who are essentially mentally deficient or outright psychologically disturbed. The results are "crying closets" or being forced to justify why a man in a wig and heels shouldn't be allowed into the girl's restroom.

A beating may be suitable for an adult, who for all his instruction and incentive, refuses to do the right thing. In the case of many kids, instruction hasn't even begun. Any rube with a short fuse can swing a belt. Being a parent, requires so much more.

That San Angelo needs people to put flags on the graves for Nov 11. I can't find the original story, but since there seem to be several posters here I thought I would mention it. I can't physicaly do it, or I would. It seems to me this would be a good idea for school kids to participate in something that makes history and current events come alive. Participating in Canadian Nov 11 services made a great impression on me gtowing up, as did other things I won't go into here. Do schools here take part in ceremonies or preperations? Being part of something makes it last much longer n the memory...

I'm not judging you, merely observing. No offense was taken, of course, and I accept that we are unlikely to see "eye to eye" on some things due to our irreconcilable and mutually conflicting personal perspectives—and possibly, worldviews. I'm not going to be petty and resort to calling people emotional or immature, which is not constructive beyond the selfish ego satisfaction of "calling out" the person we might unwisely make into our opponent. It can be gratifying to point how, when, and why someone is, basically, crazy, but it is not really constructive. Allow me to be the bigger person here and forgo all of that.

Regarding that old historical event... I can't say that I personally held it against Canada but likely the rest of America does and you can't know for sure until you apologize to every American you meet for it—possibly to every American alive, individually. Canada is a separate country and there's always the possibility that its cities will be reduced to ash and rubble at the time some new political phenomenon puts the wrong person in charge of our formidable nuclear arsenal. I do, personally, appreciate William Shatner.

On behalf of America, thanks for William Shatner.

I can see you are serious. Ok, a serious answer is that you can't truly know someone on the internet, merely form impressions. I have stated my impressions of you, and yours of me. I will take my Canadian racism and classism (not your true words, but something like that) and retire to my West Texas abode, there to judge and waggle my finger at Americas shortcomings.
Cheerio

"I will take my Canadian racism and classism [...] and retire to my West Texas abode"

Honestly can be a purifying experience and one that frees us from the constraints of our own self deception. The energy used in upholding the lies we sell to ourselves and others is released and we can then take on the world with a refreshed mind and a clearer view of the reality we find ourselves in.

Just to be clear, however, I didn't accuse you of any of the things you've confessed to. I'm a very open minded person and am willing to speak to anyone of any ideological stance so long as the conversation is fruitful. I had simply called you out on your subversive behavior—which is especially atrocious in light of typical Canadian hypocrisy concerning their constant indictments against the controversies of the American endeavor. It's right there in this (relatively) static format and when you go back and read the text, you'll see what I mean.

I understand that this sort of discussion isn't for everyone, and I'm not holding you personally accountable for anything—least of all the nutty brainwashing you kooky Canucks put each other through and which you have undoubtedly absorbed wholesale and unconsciously without ever thinking through the implications of the syrupy red Kool-Aid (...root beer?...) you were imbibing.

All of that said, I never accused you of being a spy (as unrealistic as that *seems* to the less informed,) but I'm glad you didn't "go there," as some might have, and instead owned up to what you wanted to tell everyone. I hope you enjoy your day. Be well.

(PS: I've noticed some persistent spelling errors that do make your posts less intelligible. If you were to change or update the language settings on your browser or hand held device, this might facilitate better communication. YW. ;-D )

You accused all Canadians of several nasty traits, those among them. Therefore I must have them by default.
You want to know who I really am? I am a nearly senior partly disabled Canadian married to a lovely American. I do needlework, and am an amature sampler researcher. I am socially responsible, and struggle with trying tohelp others and have enough money to buy groceries. I am sympathetic to the illegal aliens, but realize this country can't take everyone. I love cats and am currently trying to get a stray healthy so she can come inside without making my cats sick. I have a kind heart, but get frustrated by people that think the world owes them a living. I likely spend too much time on the net and sometimes ,et my temper get the better of me. I hate people wwho use the net to spew hatred without thinking of the consequences. I really get annoyed with the grammatr police. I sometimes misspell words, but try not to. I do not hate America or Americans, as should be obvious because I married one and am living here. I express frustration at the high number of accidents here in this town, and am always surprised at the reasons for them. I dislike political discussion, don't have a clue what Trudeau is doing, and try to ignore the antics of Trump. I also recycle. So, I will make this my final post directed at you on this subject. Go ahead and judge me, paint all Canadians with a tarred brush and be annoyed by my spelling. Say whatever you want and vilify whomever you choose. Have a lovely evening/day. I sincerely wish you well.

sorry for the typos and the long post. Posting after taking my meds is not good...

Got an email that you posted here. Surprised you're still on this article. It's a new calendar day and there's lots to do. Was just giving you a hard time. Kind of a "life lesson" or something:

As a peace offering, here's some cool footage of Trudeau and the neat costumes he's worn as prime minister of canada:
