SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Association of REALTORS on Tuesday endorsed local candidates Susan Werner and Gilbert Gallegos in their respective campaigns for Justice of the Peace and Pct. 4 County Commissioner in Tom Green County. The vaunted endorsement comes with something all political candidates want and need; financial support.
Most notably, the Association endorsed and financially supported a write-in candidate for a local race for the first time in its history. Political newcomer Gilbert Gallegos was interviewed by the SAAR committee along with incumbent Pct. 4 Commissioner Bill Ford. At a check presentation presentation Tuesday afternoon at the SAAR office on Pecos St. behind the Walmart Neighborhood Market, Texas Real Estate Political Action Committee trustee from San Angelo Max Puello told attendees that they were proud to support Werner because of her track record on the bench. Puello said they interviewed Werner and her opponent Sally Ayana and chose to endorse Werner. The Association also endorsed Gallegos after interviewing him and Ford and they expected him to win the election.
