Sand Hauling Truck Crushed Car South of Wall Blocking Traffic; Multiple Injuries

 

WALL, TX -- A sand hauling 18-wheeler and a passenger car crashed near Roberts Rd. and US 87 south of Wall blocking northbound traffic Thursday afternoon.  

Reporters on the scene said the 18-wheeler is on its side and the car is underneath the trailer.  

Three people were injured at the scene.  One was flown by Airmed1. Two others had to be cut out of the car.  

Northbound traffic is completely blocked on US 87 heading into San Angelo.  

There are reports of an another crash in the same area.  

The Tom Green County Sheriff's office, Wall Volunteer Fire Department, and DPS Troopers responded to the crash.

Driving beside or even close to tractor trailers is a dangerous foolish thing to do, it is a recipe for disaster. People need to be more safety conscious, don't drive in blind spots and pay attention. If you need to pass wait until the way is clear and get around the truck as fast as possible.

Will Jonson, all good tips but nothing to do with this accident. The truck lost control and went through the median into oncoming traffic hitting this car head on. Please refrain from ignorant comments when you have no clue.

said the car ran into the truck. It reads to me like the truck was passing the car and swerved into it.
May be a little early for blame.
