With our new district I guess every Central HS athlete returning from an away game at 3:00 a.m. will be breaking the law.

PermalinkIf that is the way that ordinance reads in its' entirety, then no provision has been made for , as Martin pointed out, kids involved in extra-curricular activities, kids with jobs that require them to work either very early or late, kids that may need to drive out to the farm to feed and care for livestock. I can't imagine the kid headed out for an early morning dove hunt with a shotgun in the truck....... He'd be put in Huntsville.

PermalinkThey left out the part about defenses to the charge, enforcement, etc. which would have been helpful. It's a shame this isn't an online news source that could include a link to the ordinance. Oh wait.

PermalinkI've read other curfew ordinances that listed exclusions, so I'm glad to see SA included them as well.....'

PermalinkCome to San Angelo on vacation and leave on probation. I don't see how they can enforce it with a parent if there are no illegal activities going on.

PermalinkI just love laws like this. Laws just teetering this side of a militaristic police state. What a time to be alive! -.-

PermalinkIf parents won't or can't supervise their kids, and they're running around like lawless little Banshee's, then the city has every right to limit the time "minors" can be out running around. Not much constructive being done by juvenile delinquents at 3 a.m.
