According to Hudson, 19 countywide polls will be open for Election Day, May 5. Hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. A list of voting locations is available on the election webpage:www.votetomgreencounty.org. Sample ballots may also be found on the webpage as well as blank ballot by mail and voter registration applications.
The primary runoff election will be May 22 and early voting will begin May 14. Early voting for that election will only be conducted at the election office. The deadline to register to vote or update a registration for the primary runoff election is April 23rd.
Ballots by mail have been mailed for both elections to everyone that has submitted a ballot by mail application and indicated a party preference. The deadline to apply for a ballot by mail for the May 5th election is Monday, April 23rd and for the primary runoff election is May 11th.
Voters must use the return envelopes provided with their ballot. It is important that they match the correct ballot with the correct election and submit them separately. Ballots returned in the same envelope may not be counted. The white secrecy envelope is not required and if the voter places the ballot directly in the yellow envelope, the ballot may still be counted. Voters are also reminded to be sure they sign the outside of the yellow return envelope before mailing the ballot.
Voted ballots may not be returned in person, except on Election Day, and the voter is required to bring in their own ballot and show ID when surrendering the ballot. Voters may surrender an un-voted ballot and submit a request to cancel the ballot by mail to receive a regular ballot at the poll.
For further information about either location, call the election office at 325-659-6541 or email [email protected].
