WALL, TX — The 2025-2026 Class 3A Lone Star Cup-winning Wall Hawks will be presented with the award next month.
The Lone Star Cup is awarded by the UIL to the school with the best performance in district and state championships across academic and athletic programs. Each classification is awarded a Lone Star Cup trophy and a $1,000 scholarship.
Wall won the title with a score of 105 points, 17 more than runners-up Corpus Christi London and Holliday, who tied with 88 points.
The Lone Star Cup standings include team tennis, cross country, marching band, military marching band, volleyball, robotics BEST, football, Congress, spirit, swimming and diving, film, mariachi, basketball, robotics FIRST, soccer, academics, one-act play, theatrical design, track and field, golf, tennis, softball and baseball.
The UIL will present Wall with the Lone Star Cup on Sept. 18 before its football game with Ozona. This is Wall’s second Lone Star Cup in school history.
The Hawks won their first football state championship over the Newton Eagles, 25-24, in December, and then the Lady Hawks basketball team won their own state championship, 49-34, over Central Heights. This was the Lady Hawks' third state title in school history. Each of those wins earned Wall 18 points in the Lone Star Cup standings.
The baseball team and volleyball team scored 12 each by getting to the state semifinals, and the Lady Hawks softball team added eight points with an appearance in the regional finals.
For the Hawks, the golf team and the track and field team each earned eight points with state runner-up finishes, while the boys basketball team earned six by winning district and a playoff game.
Wall’s Amelia Taylor, who won the girls singles state title in tennis, added five points. The girls cross country team earned the school four points after finishing fourth at the state cross country meet.
The Wall Hawk marching band qualified for the state competition and scored one point as did the robotics team and the cheerleading squad.
Wall last won the Lone Star Cup in 2017.
