Marijuana Commitment Monday's Number One Crime

Thirty-six were booked into the Tom Green County Jail on Monday and a great many of those were commitments for marijuana possession. The inmate bookings report lists some 13 inmates in the jail Monday for pot, and an additional three for possession of other drugs.

Public intoxication was also relatively high, accounting for five inmates total, while DWI accounted for two. There were four thefts Monday, one evading arrest and one aggravated kidnapping.

Thirty-five inmates were released.
