City of San Angelo Approves $1.25 Million Settlement With Spillman Technologies

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS -- In late March, the City of San Angelo filed a $3.875 million lawsuit against a technology company called Spillman Technologies, Inc., a Utah-based company that offers software solutions for police and fire departments across the country. Now, nearly 4 months later, the City has come to an agreement and settled with Spillman.

In the lawsuit, the City claimed that since 2016 the software provided by Spillman  has caused serious problems for the San Angelo Police and Fire Departments and had cost the City $1.5 million dollars for the Purchase and License Agreement expenses. Furthermore, the City stated that they would be seeking an additional $2.375 million to cover the cost to City taxpayers for the purchase of a replacement software system and  punitive damages, attorneys’ fees and court costs.

Today, during the city council's closed session, the City approved a $1,250,000 settlement with Spillman Technologies. In a statement released from the City, it states that "the claims made by the City in the lawsuit were disputed by Spillman and have been completely resolved by the parties' settlement."

The $1.25 million dollar settlement takes into account the value the City has received in the past year from Spillman's system, including a records and management system that organizes the flow of information by the San Angelo Police Department (SPAD), a computer-aided dispatch system that assists in fielding and prioritizing calls for help and then dispatches the nearest first-responder, as well as mobile units system in police cars that allows officers to query and cross-reference information in the field.

Both Spillman and the City are satisfied with the resolution of the legal dispute. Both parties have agreed to make no further comments.

How do I get the city of San Angelo to sue me ? I'd love to be sued by them and then have them pay me 1.25 million dollars to settle the lawsuit with me that they filed in the first place.........

DingBat, no where do I see that in the article. Spillman is paying 1.25 mil instead of 3.8 or whatever
