Angelo Catholic School to Hold Mass, Bless All Pets

Students at Angelo Catholic School (ACS) have organized a Prayer Service in honor of St. Francis, whose Feast day is October 4. Students will take charge of the Prayer Service. After the Prayer Service, Bishop Mike Sis will bless the animals. The Prayer Service will be in front of the Holy Angels Parish Hall 2315 A & M on Friday, October 2, 2015, at 8:30AM. This "Blessing of the Animals" has taken place at ACS for over 30 years.

Students and guests are invited to bring their own pets (or a representative like a stuffed animal or picture) to receive a special blessing from Bishop Mike. All pets must be on a leash or in a crate.

As a service project, students are gathering dog food and cat food to donate to the Tom Green County Humane Society.  The Executive Director, Jenie Wilson, her assistant, Laura Velez, and the Adoption Coordinator, Leigh Ann Webb, will attend the Prayer Service to accept the gifts from the students.

The Catholic Life Insurance Group will send representatives to help set up the chairs and will make a donation to the Humane Society.

Angelo Catholic School prides itself on creating a Christian environment and enabling the students to live in a community of faith, service, and commitment so each child can achieve his/her academic potential. Angelo Catholic School serves students from three years - 6th grade.
