San Angelo Names New Economic Development Director

By Lucas Banda, Dec 11, 2025

SAN ANGELO, TX - The City of San Angelo has named Ryan Gaddy as its new economic development director. His duties will begin Dec. 16.

"Gaddy brings extensive expertise in finance, business development and public service to drive economic growth and investment in San Angelo," information from the city states. "In this role, he will lead efforts to attract new businesses, support local entrepreneurs and promote sustainable growth throughout San Angelo and the surrounding region."

He will also oversee the implementation of the city's economic development initiatives, manage incentive programs and sales tax projects, and foster partnerships that strengthen the local economy.

“I’m eager to hear from all partners and stakeholders involved in economic development to ensure our efforts are aligned and focused on maximizing San Angelo’s planned growth,” Gaddy stated.

Gaddy has served as the City of San Angelo’s assistant finance director since 2018, leading the department’s reorganization, building "high-performing teams, and overseeing budgeting, capital planning and investment management."

He also has more than two decades of corporate finance experience with Verizon, where he held executive roles in financial planning, investor relations and mergers and acquisitions, according to information provided by the city.

Gaddy earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Angelo State University and is a certified public accountant.
