BALLINGER, TX — Ballinger High School athlete Matilda Galvan has signed to compete in track and field at Lubbock Christian University.
Galvan made it official Wednesday during a signing ceremony in the Ballinger High School library.
Galvan had an exceptional senior year, highlighted by her eighth-place finish at the UIL State Cross Country Meet.
She then led the Lady Cats basketball team to the regional semifinals. She was named the Offensive MVP of her district after averaging 13.4 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 6 steals per game.
In track and field season, Galvan had top-five finishes at the regional meet in three events. She was fourth in the triple jump and a part of a 4x200 relay team that took fourth and a 4x400 relay that was fifth.
Galvan was also the district champion in the 400.
Lubbock Christian competes in the Lone Star Conference in NCAA Division II.
