SAN ANGELO, TX — Floyd Bias, a San Angelo Animal Services animal control officer, has returned to work months after being attacked by two aggressive dogs while responding to a call in November 2024.
San Angelo Animal Services announced his return in a Facebook post on Wednesday, stating, “After a tough recovery, Floyd is finally back at work, and we couldn’t be happier to have him here again. It’s been a long few months, but he’s back and ready to keep serving the citizens of San Angelo!”
Bias was critically injured on Nov. 6 while responding to a report of multiple aggressive dogs at a home on Cloud Street. Upon arrival, he was attacked by at least two large-breed dogs, sustaining severe injuries to his face, arms, and legs. Emergency responders transported him to Shannon Medical Center before he was airlifted to Lubbock for further treatment.
Following the incident, the dogs involved were surrendered by their owner and euthanized.
City Manager Daniel Valenzuela previously emphasized the dangers faced by animal control officers and the ongoing efforts to address stray and aggressive dog populations in San Angelo.

What is wrong with our judicial system? Why was this person not arrested and charged with attempted murder? I find this disturbing. This man could have died due to her actions and absolutely nothing was done. Nice job SAPD and DA/ADA. I'm happy to see less bicyclist riding on the wrong side of the roadway thou. How much time and resources are spent clearing that up? Come on Allison, Try Harder, Be better.
