Junior Angler Breaks 15-Year-Old Record at Twin Buttes

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A junior angler broke a 15-year-old record with his catch over the weekend at Twin Buttes.

Gunner Routh reeled in a 9.9-pound largemouth bass on Sunday, March 9, breaking the previous record of 7.6 pounds set in 2010 by Dani Watson.

Routh has submitted the record to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to be certified as the official waterbody record for junior anglers at Twin Buttes.

There are nine other categories of fish in the rod and reel category at Twin Buttes, including white bass, common carp, blue catfish, channel catfish, flathead catfish, white crappie, freshwater drum, longnose gar and warmouth sunfish.
