Angelo State Rams’ Season Ends With Loss to Dallas Baptist at LSC Tournament

FRISCO, TX — The Angelo State University men's basketball team fell in the Lone Star Conference Tournament quarterfinals to top-seeded Dallas Baptist 85-63 on Friday evening inside the Comerica Center in Frisco.

The No. 8-seeded Rams had defeated DBU 68-61 on Feb. 20 in San Angelo when the Patriots were ranked No. 5 in the country, so there was reason to believe ASU was capable of pulling off the upset Friday.

However, DBU raced to a 31-13 lead, and the Rams were never closer than 13 points the rest of the game.

DJ Freeman had 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead ASU.

The Rams finished the season with a 17-12 overall record and 13-9 mark in LSC play
