TPWD Stocks Foster Park's Spring Creek With Rainbow Trout

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department stocked Spring Creek at Foster Park with more than 800 rainbow trout Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025.

It will be the final stocking of the 2024-25 season.

The trout are stocked roughly between Thanksgiving and the first week of March each season as part of the Neighborhood Fishin’ program.

The TPWD will begin stocking channel catfish in Foster Park in mid-April, along with the Concho River in downtown San Angelo and at San Angelo State Park.

Children 16 and under can fish for free, but adults must purchase a fishing license.

Stock fish that will actually survive once the water warms up. The trout program is a waste of money in my opinion.
