SONORA, TX — A suspect who led law enforcement on a high-speed chase along Interstate 10 early Tuesday morning has been taken into custody without further incident, according to the City of Sonora.
The pursuit, which began in Kimble County, ended near the 412 exit ramp on I-10. The individual, identified as 25-year-old Rashaud Breland Al Moncrief, was apprehended following a brief foot chase. No injuries were reported during the incident.
The suspect was turned over to the Kimble County Sheriff’s Office after his arrest.
Sonora Police Chief Donald Fernandez extended his gratitude to the Sutton County Sheriff’s Office, Sonora Police Department, Kimble County Sheriff’s Office, Junction Police Department, and the Texas Department of Public Safety for their coordinated response. He also commended two Sutton County deputies for their persistence, which led to Moncrief’s capture.
“This event serves as a strong reminder of the importance of collaboration and teamwork among law enforcement agencies,” Fernandez said in a statement.
