SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State men's and women’s basketball teams will end the regular season with three straight games at home, beginning Thursday, Feb. 20.
The Rambelles will host the No. 1-ranked team in the country in NCAA Division II, Texas Woman’s (25-1), at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Junell Center.
The Rams will host No. 5 Dallas Baptist (25-3) at 7:30 p.m.
The Belles are on a four-game losing streak, with all of those losses coming on the road. Three of the losses were by seven points or less.
Despite the recent slide, ASU’s women are still 16-9 overall and 12-7 in Lone Star Conference play. They’re tied for fourth place and in good position to qualify for the eight-team field in the conference tournament.
The Belles are also 7-2 on their home court this season.
For the ASU men, they went 1-3 during their four-game road trip. They are 14-11 overall and 10-9 in LSC play.
The Rams are currently in ninth place in the LSC, one game out of a top-eight finish needed to qualify for the conference tournament.
Despite Thursday’s difficult matchup, the Rams have an 8-2 record at the Junell Center this season.
The Belles will host No. 6 UT Tyler at 1 p.m. Saturday, followed by the men’s game at 3 p.m.
The regular-season finale for both ASU teams will be Thursday, Feb. 27, against UT Permian Basin. The Belles will play at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Rams at 7:30 p.m.
