19-Year-Old Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Odessa Crash

ODESSA, TX – A 19-year-old passenger sustained life-threatening injuries in a three-vehicle crash Thursday morning at the 1200 block of East 42nd Street, according to Odessa officials.

The Odessa Police Department and Odessa Fire Rescue responded to the scene around 8:30 a.m. A black Ford Mustang, driven by a 16-year-old male, veered from the eastbound lanes into the westbound lanes after the driver reportedly lost traction on his rear wheels. The Mustang collided with a gray Toyota Tundra, driven by 65-year-old Debra Harris, and then struck a silver Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 58-year-old Febe Morales.

The drivers of all three vehicles were transported to Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Mustang’s passenger, identified as 19-year-old Angel Meraz, was also transported to the hospital but with critical injuries.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
