SAN ANGELO, TX — The Central Bobcats bounced back from their defeat at the hands of the rival Permian Panthers last Friday with a huge 85-60 win over the Midland Legacy Rebels on Tuesday night, Jan. 21. An explosive 1st quarter allowed the 'Cats the lead they needed to snuff out any comeback attempt as the Bobcats claimed another district victory.

The Bobcats came out the gates blazing hot with a 31-point 1st quarter to give Central a 20-point advantage early. Ean McNeill hit a hot streak, scoring 10 of the 'Cats 31 in the 1st. However, Legacy battled back to start the 2nd. The Rebels went on a 13-2 run to begin the quarter before the Bobcats' offense woke back up and played some basketball. Central led at the half 45-27.
Legacy went on a few runs in the 2nd half, but the Bobcats were always ready with an answer. Squeaky English took the game in the final two quarters with six points in the 3rd and eight points in the 4th quarter. The Bobcats would slam the door shut to claim victory, 85-60.

Squeaky English led all scorers on Tuesday evening with 30 points, followed by Ean McNeill with 14 and TK Taylor with 13 points.
Central travels to Midland on Friday, Jan. 24, still seeking their first road district win of the season. They have that chance against the Midland High Bulldogs on Friday. The Bobcats need to steal a few on the road if they hope to challenge Frenship and Odessa Permian for the district title. Tip-off in that matchup is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
In the early game, the Central Lady Cats suffered a loss to the Lady Rebels, 42-31, after a back-and-forth battle throughout the evening. The Lady Cats will also travel to Midland on Friday to take on the Lady Bulldogs at 6 p.m.
