Volunteer Firefighters Respond to Gas Compressor Explosion on Christmas Morning

 

BIG SPRING, TX — Volunteer firefighters from the Howard County Volunteer Fire Department were called out early Christmas morning to respond to a natural gas compressor explosion.

The incident, which resulted in no injuries, required the firefighters to collaborate with the operator to isolate the compressor and extinguish the fire. The crew successfully completed the operation, allowing them to return to service by 8:30 a.m.

No further details about the cause of the explosion or the extent of the damage were immediately available.
