North Crowley Too Much for Austin Westlake

ARLINGTON, TX — North Crowley proved to everyone across the state on Saturday night that they truly were the baddest team in 6A after the Panthers dismantled Austin Westlake in the 6A Division I Championship. North Crowley led from start to finish as they claimed the state title 50-21.

The Panthers received the opening kickoff and immediately went to work on offense.  Quentin Gibson took a 75-yard pass for a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage.

Westlake battled back early in the game, but could not match the Panthers for the duration of the contest.

The Panthers quarterback, Chris Jimerson Jr. passed for 299 yards and four touchdowns on the night and added a rushing touchdown. Gibson, a Colorado commit, hauled in seven passes for 181 yards and three touchdowns. On the ground, Cornelius Warren III finished the game with 217 rushing yards and touchdown.

Austin Westlake finished with 340 total yards to North Crowley's 640. The Panthers outgained Westlake by 298 yards on the night.

Crowley capped off a playoff run where they downed the defending champion Duncanville on their way to a state championship.
