White Crappie Population at Lake Nasworthy Sees Growth

SAN ANGELO, TX - The White Crappie population at Lake Nasworthy has shown improvement, with survey results this week indicating both an increase in total catch and healthier fish compared to last year, according to the Inland Fisheries San Angelo District of Texas Parks and Wildlife.

Fisheries staff reported catching fish up to 13 inches long in their nets, with a higher proportion of larger fish observed compared to the previous year’s sample.

This development is considered an encouraging sign for anglers and the overall health of the crappie population.

"It’s a great time of year to target crappie, take a kid fishing, and load up that livewell," information stated.
