SAN ANGELO, TX – Temperatures are expected to remain near or above 100 degrees across West Central Texas through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service in San Angelo.
The forecast calls for sunny and hot conditions, with highs near 97 degrees Tuesday and 98 degrees Wednesday. Thursday’s high is expected to reach 99 degrees.

A slight cooldown is expected by Friday and Saturday, when highs will be in the mid-90s. There is a 20 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms both days.
The weather service advises residents to drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol, wear lightweight and light-colored clothing, apply sunscreen every two hours, and take regular breaks in the shade to prevent heat-related illnesses.

Rain chances decrease to 10 percent Sunday and Monday, when temperatures will again approach the upper 90s.
