RICHARDSON, TX — Quarterback Braeden Fuller was named the Offensive Player of the Year on the All-Lone Star Conference Football Team that was released Thursday.
Fuller had 2,180 passing yards and 18 touchdowns with no interceptions, and he added 648 yards on the ground and 10 TDs.
He was named the LSC Player of the Week five times this season and helped lead the Rams to an undefeated conference title. Fuller is the first to win the award for the Rams since Kyle Washington in 2015.
Andrew Pitts was named the LSC Defensive Back of the Year for the second time in his career after finishing the season with six interceptions, eight pass breakups, and 38 tackles. Earlier this season, he set the ASU career record for interceptions and now has 22 total for his career.
Earning Defensive Lineman of the Year was Owen Seaver, who collected 36 tackles on the season with 6.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
Eric Rascoe was selected as Co-Linebacker of the Year. He tallied 55 tackles on the year with 6.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, and three interceptions.
For the third time since taking over the program in 2019, Jeff Girsch was named the Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year after leading the Rams to a second conference championship in three seasons. Girsch holds a .778 winning percentage at ASU.
First-team all-conference selection for the Rams include offensive linemen Noah Plsek, Jacob Long and Connor Fisher, kicker Bradley Larson, wide receiver Zorhan Rideaux as an all-purpose player, linebacker Kenton Allen, safeties Jordan McKinney and Stephen Woods, punter Cade Fuller, and Connor McDowell as a defensive specialist.
No. 16-ranked ASU will open the NCAA Division II playoffs against Bemidji State at 1 p.m. Saturday at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field.
