The impact was severe enough that the Dodge Ram struck and took down one of the traffic lights at the intersection, causing all lights in the area to flash red. City crews are currently on-site, working to repair the traffic signals, which are expected to be out for several hours.

Each vehicle had only the driver inside, and both were transported to the hospital as a precaution. Fortunately, there were no life-threatening injuries. Police issued the driver of the Dodge Ram a citation for disregarding the red light.

Traffic at the intersection remains restricted, with only one lane open as emergency personnel manage the scene and city crews address the damaged traffic light.
