SAN ANGELO, TX — West Central Texas is once again facing the possibility of record-breaking temperatures today, with highs forecast to reach 15 degrees above normal.
The National Weather Service has predicted temperatures in San Angelo to climb to 91°F, just shy of the record 92°F set in 1943. Abilene may see similar conditions, with highs near 91°F, close to the 92°F record set in 1933.

This heat comes as part of an extended period of unseasonably warm weather in the region, with temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s expected to continue into Friday. Winds are forecast from the south at 10 to 20 mph, with higher gusts in some areas. By the weekend, temperatures are projected to cool slightly, returning to the mid-80s.
Overnight lows today will be around 62°F. Tomorrow’s forecast shows continued warmth, with highs near 86°F before cooling off slightly by Friday night.
