BIG LAKE, TX — Reagan County High School’s Kason Brown is getting some significant interest from college football programs, which includes three offers from NCAA Division I schools.
Cornell, New Mexico and most recently Tulsa have all offered scholarships to the 6-foot-5, 195-pound athlete from the small town of Big Lake.
Brown began this season as the quarterback for the Owls, who compete at the Class 2A Division I level. However, he played at wide receiver in the team’s most recent game against Iraan. He had nine catches for 115 yards with his twin brother, Jarrett, at QB.
Reagan County is off to a 4-1 start this year heading into its district opener Thursday at home against Ozona.
Last year, Brown threw for 2,036 yards and 26 touchdowns. He also rushed for 521 yards and seven TDs, averaging 5.5 yards per carry.
Brown is also known around the area for his play on the basketball court. He averaged 24.9 points per game last season as a junior and eclipsed the 2,000-point total for his career.
