SAN ANGELO, TX - The Angelo State University Wind Ensemble will present its first concert of the fall season on Sunday, Oct. 6, in the Murphey Performance Hall at 72 W. College Ave. in downtown San Angelo.
Titled "British Masterworks of Band Literature," the concert will begin at 2:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The musical program will include:
- "English Folk Song Suite" by Ralph Vaughan Williams
- "Awayday" by Adam Gorb
- "Hammersmith" by Gustav Holst
- "Red Machine" by Peter Graham
- "Tam O'Shanter" by Malcolm Arnold
The ASU Wind Ensemble features about 50 student musicians performing on various woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. It is directed by Dr. Jonathan Alvis, ASU director of bands.
