DALLAS, TX — The Dallas Cowboys have made their roster cuts as the regular season approaches.
Every year, all 32 teams in the NFL must cut enough players to get to the 53-man sized roster. The rosters must be cut down by August 27 and the Cowboys have done just that.
The Dallas Cowboys cut:
- Nathaniel Peat- RB
- Tyron Billy-Johnson- WR
- Deontay Burnett- WR
- David Durden- WR
- Cam Johnson- WR
- Peyton Hendershot- TE
- Alec Holler- TE
- Cohl Cabral- OL
- Viliami Fehoko Jr.- DE
- Durrell Johnson- DE
- Carl Lawson- DE
- Albert Huggins- DT
- Willie Harvey- LB
- Jason Johnson- LB
- Damien Wilson- LB
- Josh DeBerry- DB
- Sheldrick Redwine-DB
- Eric Scott Jr.- DB
Fehoko and Scott are two sort of surprising cuts as they were draft picks, which the Cowboys usually try and hold on to for a few years. Former defensive coordinator Dan Quinn took the Washington Commanders job and that opened the door for the Cowboys to hire Mike Zimmer in that position, who doesn’t have any ties to the former draft picks.
The Dallas Cowboys are set to begin their season against the Cleveland Browns on September 8, 2024, at 3:25 p.m.
