San Angelo Police Pursuit Ends in Crash, Suspect at Large

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A vehicle pursuit early Tuesday morning ended with a crash in the Southland residential community, according to the San Angelo Police Department.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. when a San Angelo Police Department officer attempted to stop a vehicle in the Southland area.

The vehicle initially complied but "quickly" fled the scene. A patrol supervisor assessed the situation and terminated the pursuit to prioritize community safety.

Shortly after, the officer discovered that the fleeing vehicle had crashed into a tree in the front yard of a residence near the intersection of Shefflera and Royal Oak. The driver fled the scene on foot and has not yet been located.

Authorities continue to search for the suspect. No further details have been released at this time.
