Car Takes Out Train Crossing Signal in Crash

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A crash near the intersection of US Highway 277 and Old Ballinger Highway on Thursday took out a train crossing signal.

According to DPS Sergeant Justin Baker, the vehicle was traveling at an unsafe speed for the wet road conditions due to the rain. The woman driving the car was the lone occupant, and she lost control of the vehicle.

The woman was taken to Shannon Medical Center with incapacitating injuries.

The crash occurred about 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle had extensive damage to the rear and was stopped next to the train crossing signal, which was lying on its side.

Traffic was slowed on US 277 as first responders worked the scene.
