SAN ANGELO, TX – The National Weather Service in San Angelo has forecast a stretch of hot weather for the region, with temperatures expected to soar into the triple digits.
Today the high temperature is predicted to reach 104 degrees in San Angelo, with similar scorching temperatures anticipated across other areas in West and Central Texas.
Abilene and San Angelo will experience normal highs in the upper 90s under mostly clear skies. Winds from the south to southeast are expected to range between 5 to 10 mph, providing little relief from the intense heat.
The extended forecast shows elevated impacts throughout the weekend and into the next week.
Saturday’s temperatures are predicted to range from 100 to 105 degrees, with a 20% chance of thunderstorms across much of the area. Sunday’s forecast includes a 30% chance of thunderstorms, mainly south of Sterling City to Brady, with highs in the mid-90s to near 100 degrees.
Monday through Wednesday, the pattern of mostly sunny skies continues, with temperatures consistently reaching the upper 90s to around 106 degrees. Morning lows are expected to be in the low to mid-70s.

July 2024 saw San Angelo experiencing temperatures slightly above normal. The highest recorded temperature was 106 degrees on July 2, while the lowest was 67 degrees, recorded on the 9th, 10th, and 24th. The monthly average temperature was 85.1 degrees, slightly above the normal average of 84.8 degrees.
Rainfall for the month totaled 1.34 inches, which is 0.24 inches above the monthly normal.
The city saw daily highs of 100 degrees or more on 17 days.
The coolest daily high temperature was 82 degrees on the 22nd, while the warmest daily low temperature was 79 degrees on the 4th. The highest wind gust recorded was 43 mph on the 5th.
