At approximately 11 a.m. Monday morning, Traffic Officer Brian Bylsma with the San Angelo Police Department was dispatched to the 400 block of Avenue J and the 1300 block of Koenigheim St. after the driver of a gray Toyota Tacoma collided with a yellow Chevy Malibu.
Bylsma said the call initially came out as an accident with unknown injuries; however, the female driver of the Chevy was taken to Shannon Hospital with complaints of pain in her legs.
“The yellow Chevy was northbound on Koenigheim St. in the left turn lane for Avenue J,” Bylsma said. “The driver of the Toyota Tacoma was in the lane next to her, just in front a little bit, and he attempted to change lanes to make a left turn onto Avenue J. Basically, what he did is make an unsafe lane change, and when he started to come over, he collided with the Chevy.”
Additionally, when the collision occurred, the Tacoma pushed the Chevy forward several feet close to the Stripes at 1322 S. Bryant Blvd. According to witnesses, the Chevy had pieces of the Toyota hanging from the right side. The driver of the Toyota managed to drive his truck into the Stripes parking lot until officials arrived on the scene.
At this time, a citation will be given to the driver of the Toyota Tacoma for unsafe lane change.

People just don't look when changing lanes. Maybe they need to adjust their side view mirrors properly.
