SAN ANGELO, TX — A crash on South Loop 306 turned into a vehicle fire after a work van hit a truck hauling a livestock trailer on Monday morning.
At around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, a white work van rear-ended a black Dodge truck hauling a livestock trailer on South Loop 306 near Terry Trail. Radio communications indicated that the Wall Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to deal with a vehicle fire that erupted after the crash.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash, but it is not clear if any injuries occurred as there was no ambulance on the scene. DPS reduced southbound traffic on S Loop 306 to one lane.

Our reporter on the scene did not observe any active flames, but it was clear that the van was the only vehicle that would have been on fire. There was extensive damage done to both the front of the van and the rear of the trailer. The Dodge truck did not appear to have any significant damage done to the vehicle.
The posted speed limit on S Loop 306 is 70 miles per hour, but it remains a road with frequent crashes because of the streets feeding into the highway.
