SAN ANGELO, TX - The National Weather Service (NWS) in San Angelo reports that excessive rainfall is not likely today and tomorrow for the San Angelo region.
However, on Thursday, the probability of rainfall slightly increases with a marginal risk in some areas south of I-10. Potential Tropical Cyclone 1, currently affecting South Texas, is expected to bring heavy rainfall to portions of South Texas and Central Mexico, shifting the highest precipitation chances further southward.
Today, residents can expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with isolated showers and storms moving in from the southeast this afternoon. Breezy conditions will accompany these weather patterns, with east to southeast winds at 15 to 20 mph and gusts up to 30 mph.
Afternoon highs today will range from the mid-80s to low 90s, with high humidity levels contributing to the sultry conditions.
The extended forecast for the area predicts continued overcast conditions with showers and storms on Thursday, capable of producing heavy rainfall mainly along and south of I-10. Morning lows will be in the upper 60s to low 70s, and afternoon highs in the mid-80s to low 90s. Elevated impacts are expected due to these weather conditions.
Friday through Monday will see mostly to partly cloudy skies with isolated showers and warmer temperatures. Afternoon highs will gradually increase, reaching the mid-90s by Saturday and near 100 degrees by Monday.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions, including turning around if encountering flooded roadways and avoiding driving through water-covered roads.
