SAN ANGELO, TX — A former Wall Hawk recently received All-American Honors. The Angelo State baseball team added another two All-American accolades to the ever-growing pile of accomplishments in the 2024 season. One of those was former 3A Texas Player of the Year Caleb Heuertz.
A senior from San Angelo, Heuertz was named to the Second-Team All-American by D2 Baseball and was a key player in the Rams' post-season run. During the playoffs, he pitched 21 innings throughout six games, 16 of which were scoreless while striking out 26 batters.
The other Ram to receive the honor was the Rams’ Catcher Tripp Clark. D2 Baseball named Clark to this 1st-team. This is the fourth All-American honor Clark picked up this season. He finished atop Division II in RBIs in 2024 with 92 while he ranked 13th in batting average (.428), third in doubles (25), and fifth in hits (98).
The Rams finished the 2024 season ranked No. 2 in Division II in all Top 25 polls.
