Driver Sent to the Hospital After Crash with Fire Department Vehicle

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – One person was sent to the hospital after running a red light and crashing into a city-owned vehicle. 

This happened this afternoon around 4:30 p.m. when a white Lexus SUV ran a red light on West Beauregard Avenue, colliding with a San Angelo Fire Department vehicle at the intersection with Randolph Street. 

 

The crash occurred as the Lexus, heading eastbound, ignored the traffic signal, and t-boned the Fire Department’s Operations Chief, driving southbound on Randolph Street with a green light.

The driver of the Lexus sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was transported to Shannon for treatment. Authorities cited the driver for the red light violation.

No injuries were reported for the Fire Department’s Operations Chief.
