RV with Propane Tanks Threatens Firefighters

SAN ANGELO, TX — A fifth wheel RV travel trailer with propane tanks is hampering multiple volunteer firefighters as they battle a blaze north of San Angelo.

Initially Carlsbad and Grape Creek VFD were called to 10407 Mountain View Lane for a fire. Shortly after arrival, calls went out over the radio for Water Valley VFD to assist.

The fire was described as an electrical fire in the structure adjacent to a residence. As news of the propane tanks spread, firefighters maintained a defensive posture. We could not get too close as the fire is on a large property with a private drive, but the smoke was intense when we arrived.

Mountain View Lane is in a rural housing development northwest of Grape Creek. To the west at the back of the lots is the North Concho River.
