Tom Green County Sees Declining Unemployment Rates in April

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - Tom Green County reported positive employment data for April, with another month of declining jobless rates.

Data from the Texas Workforce Commission shows Tom Green County’s unemployment rate logged at 3.0 percent for April 2024, down from 3.5 percent in March 2024.

The county’s 1,703 unemployed residents in April 2024 were down from 2,008 in March 2024.

Overall employment improved from 55,267 people in March 2024 to 55,733 in April 2024. Over the same timeframe, the total civilian labor force went up from 57,275 to 57,436.

In April 2023, the county’s jobless rate was 3.1 percent, with 1,758 people out of work.

The State of Texas reported a slight increase in unemployment from March to April, going from 3.9 percent to 4 percent.
