SAN ANGELO, TX — At 8:15 a.m., the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office responded to a complaint at 10639 Wheatland Drive in Grape Creek regarding an individual violating a magistrate's emergency protective order.
The order was issued for Norma Lee Moreno, 38, of San Angelo, following her arrest on April 21 for the offense of injury to the elderly.
Moreno was released but subsequently rearrested on May 6, 2024, for violating the protective order.
On May 16, Moreno was again the suspect in the assault of an elderly victim in Grape Creek, according to Sheriff Nick Hanna.
Deputies arrived at the residence to find Moreno violating the emergency protective order once more. As they attempted to make contact with her, Moreno armed herself with two knives, threatened suicide, and barricaded herself inside the residence.
Efforts by the Tom Green County Special Response Team and Crisis Negotiation Unit to persuade Moreno to surrender peacefully were unsuccessful.
At 2:15 p.m., chemical agents were deployed. After several attempts, deputies were able to physically restrain Moreno and take her into custody at 3:05 p.m. As of 4 p.m., Moreno is being booked into the Tom Green County Jail.
Moreno was initially charged with violating the protective order, but additional charges are pending. No injuries were sustained by sheriff's deputies during the incident.

If a woman hasn't tried to stab you at least once, or to hit you with a vehicle, or flung a projectile in your direction, or so much as run off a random woman in public who approaches you, does she even care?
