Group of Kyles Meeting in Kyle to Attempt World Record

KYLE, TX – The Texas Hill Country city of Kyle is once again calling on Kyles from around the globe to gather and attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people with the same first name.

The event will take place at the Kyle Fair "A Tex-Travaganza" on Saturday, May 18, at 1 p.m. at Lake Kyle Park, 700 Lehman Rd.

“Last year, we were blown away by the amount of Kyles who showed up in honor of their namesake. Nearly 1,500 Kyles answered the call, but we need even more Kyles to break the record in 2024,” said Claudia Rocha, Kyle Fair Special Events Manager. “Kyles, you’re our only hope to bring the Guinness World Record for the largest same-name gathering, first-name-only, to American soil and firmly in the hands of Kyles worldwide.”

All Kyles are encouraged to pre-register for the event at KyleFair.com. On-site registration will also be available at the Kyle Fair on Friday, May 17, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, May 18, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There is no cost to participate or register.

Participants named Kyle will receive a free Kyle Fair T-shirt, while supplies last. Proof of identification is required, and only those with the first name spelled "Kyle" will be accepted. Variations such as Kyler, Kyal, or Kylee, as well as middle names, last names, and nicknames, will not be accepted.

This year marks the fifth attempt by the City of Kyle to break the record. In 2023, a total of 1,490 Kyles participated. The current record, set by Ivans in Bosnia and Herzegovina on July 30, 2017, stands at 2,235.

The Kyle Fair A Tex-Travaganza runs from May 17 to 19 at Lake Kyle Park. The family-friendly event features live music, carnival rides, food and craft vendors, the Jackalope 5k Fun Run, and Rib, ‘Rita, and Fajita competitions.
