Angelo State Percussion Ensemble Presents Spring Concert

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State University Percussion Ensemble will present its annual spring concert on Thursday, April 11, at 7 p.m. in the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building at 2602 Dena Drive.

The concert will take place in the EFA Building's Eldon Black Recital Hall and is free and open to the public. Special guests will include members of the ASU Brass Ensembles.

The musical program will include:

  • "Telisi Odyssey" by Russell Hartenberger
  • "4/4 For Four" by Anthony Cirone
  • "Fear Cage" by Kirk Gay
  • "Reality/Illusion" by Michael Udow
  • "The Black Page" by Frank Zappa

Percussion Ensemble members include music majors Allison Culwell, Mackenzie Estes and Logan Perry, marketing major Jashon Box and computer science major Tony Navarro.

The ASU Percussion Ensemble performs a wide repertoire of music written specifically for percussion instruments. The ensemble consists of students with varying degrees of percussion experience, and membership is open to any current ASU student with a background in percussion, regardless of their academic major.

The Percussion Ensemble is directed by Dr. Trent Shuey, assistant director of bands.
