SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State Rambelles softball team returned from another Lone Star Conference series victory over the weekend after the Belles split the doubleheader last Friday against St. Edward’s.
The Belles took Games 1 and 2 before faltering in Game 3. Belles Head Coach Travis Scott talked about the disappointment the Belles felt after the falloff in Game 3 but praised the ladies for another series win.
“I was very happy with Game 1 and 2 for sure,” Scott said at his press conference on Monday. “We played great defense in those two games. Cheyenne (Floyd) pitched great and then we gave Amelia Hatthorn a start. We haven’t done that in a long time, but she’s really been progressing well…She gave us four really strong innings. She had one inning wear she gave up back-to-back hits that allowed a run, but she was really spot on from there.”

Cheyenne Floyd picked up her 17th win on the season last Thursday and continues to be one of the top pitchers in the region. The Belles currently sport a 29-11 overall record (20-10 LSC) and in third place in the Lone Star Conference. The Belles have another opportunity to create some space between themselves and the teams directly beneath them in the standings this weekend when the Belles host Cameron for Senior weekend.
The series with Cameron is scheduled to start with a doubleheader on Friday, April 5, at Mayer Field here in San Angelo. First pitch will be at 4 p.m.
