SAN ANGELO, TX – On April 2, the City Council of San Angelo is set to convene at 8:30 a.m. in the McNease Convention Center's South Meeting Room, located at 501 Rio Concho Drive.
Among the agenda items, a notable discussion will involve the consideration of a "special recreation lease renewal" with the Concho Boat Club.
The meeting will begin with the formalities of calling to order, followed by a chaplain's prayer and pledges. It will then proceed to recognize various proclamations, including the designation of April 14-20 as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, April 19 as SAISD Difference Maker Day, the entire month of April as both the Month of the Military Child and National Donate Life Month, and Fair Housing Month.
In addition to public comment and consent agenda items, the council will address several other issues. These include amendments to the Commercial Lease Agreement between the City of San Angelo and Historic Orient Santa Fe Depot, Inc., approval of utility access easements, and investments in infrastructure and public safety, such as the liquid sodium hypochlorite supply and bullet-resistant vests for law enforcement.
A highlight of the meeting will be the discussion on the 2024 Annual Sealcoat Project, including an interlocal agreement with Tom Green County and the awarding of the project to Ronald R. Wagner & Co.
The session will also touch on fiscal adjustments, allowing for the addition of six full-time positions in the Street and Bridge Division.
Following the public and regular agendas, the council will retreat into a closed session to discuss matters requiring confidentiality, with follow-up and administrative issues to be considered upon return to open session.
