Expect More Traffic Delays on Nasworthy Bridge Today

SAN ANGELO, TX — Traffic is being halted on the Veterans Memorial Bridge over Lake Nasworthy as crews shift barriers from one side of the bridge to the other.

Only one traffic lane is being let through at a time, as TxDOT is switching the barriers to the other side.

We reported earlier that night that work was performed on the bridge substructure (mainly painting) on March 4.

TxDOT said that contractors started working on the bridge deck expansion joints and expect to flip traffic to work on the other side this week, March 21 and 22.

“We anticipate this work will be completed by April and have the bridge deck opened back up with no lane closures,” TxDOT stated.

The remaining work on the project is all substructure work, which may require one lane to be closed here and there, but no major closures are anticipated once the expansion joints are completed.
