SAN ANTONIO, TX — The No. 15 Angelo State Rams Baseball team claimed another Lone Star Conference series victory over St. Mary’s with a 17-12 Game 4 victory on Sunday, March 17. Despite some weather, the Rams’ offense had little difficulty scoring throughout the weekend as Angelo State won Game 1 10-2, Game 2 14-7, and Game 4 17-12.
The Game 4 win was highlighted by a huge fourth inning in which the Rams scored eight runs to take the lead. Tripp Clark hit a 2-RBI single to kickstart an inning in which the Rattlers allowed five more runs off of errors. The Rams scored four more runs in the sixth inning off of a double from Jacob Guerrero.
The only game Angelo State dropped on the weekend was Game 3 on Saturday, which the Rams lost 13-12. With the series win, Angelo State improves to 20-9 on the season and 19-9 in Lone Star Conference play.
The Rams currently sit in third place in the conference and can make up more ground next weekend when Angelo State hosts Lubbock Christian for another 4-game series at Foster Field. Game 1 is scheduled for Friday, March 22, at 6:30 p.m.
