SAN ANGELO – Strong storms are developing along the I-10 corridor just north of a cold front Friday morning, while the likelihood of severe storms is anticipated to remain to the south this afternoon. Today's temperatures will see a significant drop, with highs ranging from the upper 50s to lower 60s across the Big Country, extending to the mid and upper 60s along the I-10 corridor.
The rain chance today is 60%, Saturday 90% and Sunday is 70% across the Concho Valley.
Tonight, expect showers and thunderstorms to emerge over southwest portions towards daybreak Saturday as another disturbance traverses the area. Overnight temperatures will be cooler, with lows mainly in the upper 40s and lower 50s.
A couple of weak short waves will usher in showers and isolated thunderstorms over the weekend. Although rainfall amounts are not expected to be significant, some areas may see up to half an inch. On Saturday, there is a marginal risk of severe storms, primarily in areas that encompass southern Kimble and Mason counties. The main threat will be large hail, but the best chance of storms will likely be south of the region.
