SAN ANGELO— The Angelo State Ram’s Baseball team won both games of their doubleheader on Saturday against the Oklahoma Christian Eagles.
The Rams are perfect so far this series against the Eagles, winning three for three with one more game set for Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
On a chilly Friday night, the Rams dropped a 2-0 lead in the top of the second to the Eagles as Oklahoma Christian ran in five runs. The Rams tied it back up in the bottom of the third and the game was back and forth, but Angelo State emerged victorious 12-11.
Then on Saturday in the first game of the doubleheader, the Rams had one run in the second inning and two in the third to win 3-0. The story of the game was pitcher Alezeah Gutierrez, who had 12 strike outs and only allowed one hit.
After about a half hour break, the Rams continued to play well and one run in the first, two in the third, and two in the fifth to the Eagle’s one run in the third. Dax Dathe followed up Gutierrez’s performance with six strike outs.
The series concludes tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. at Angelo State University.
